My Background

Before diving into Solana's meme coin and DEX trading scene, I spent three years in traditional crypto — running nodes, yield farming on Ethereum DeFi, and learning the hard way that most "revolutionary" projects underdeliver. When Solana's trading bot ecosystem started maturing in late 2023, I saw an information gap: dozens of bots competing for attention, but almost no independent, data-driven comparisons.

I started SolanaTools.io in January 2025 as a personal project to document my testing. It grew because traders kept asking the same questions: "Which bot is actually fastest?" "Is Axiom better than Photon?" "Will this bot rug me?" — and the answers weren't available anywhere in an honest, structured format.

How I Test & Review Bots

Every bot review on this site follows the same methodology:

1. Real money testing. I fund each bot with SOL and execute actual trades — sniping new tokens, setting limit orders, running DCA strategies. No simulated results, no demo accounts.
2. Minimum 2-week testing period. I use each bot across different market conditions — volatile days, slow days, major token launches — to get a realistic picture of performance.
3. Fee transparency. I track every fee I pay: platform fees, priority tips, failed transaction costs. The fee breakdowns on this site reflect my actual trading costs, not marketing claims.
4. Security audit. I verify wallet architecture (custodial vs non-custodial), check for known vulnerabilities, review the team's track record, and assess phishing risk for each platform.
5. Comparative benchmarking. I test the same trades on multiple bots to compare execution speed, price impact, and slippage under identical conditions.

My Review Standards

• No paid rankings. Bot placement on this site is determined by features and testing results, not by who pays more. No bot company has editorial control over my reviews.
• Honest cons. Every bot has weaknesses. If a bot has a terrible UI, charges hidden fees, or has had security incidents — I say so clearly.
• Regular updates. The Solana ecosystem changes fast. I re-test bots and update reviews whenever there are significant platform updates, fee changes, or security events.
• Risk warnings. Trading meme coins and using sniping bots carries real financial risk. I include risk context in every review because losing money to a rug pull or misconfigured bot is a real outcome.
